Learn to Skate
Build Confidence on the Ice
The Davis Center’s Learn to Skate program offers 30-minute group lessons for every age and skill level—from tots to adults—in a relaxed and supportive setting. Following the US Figure Skating Learn to Skate curriculum, classes provide a clear progression of skills so skaters can learn at their own pace.
Learn to Skate classes are offered in six-week sessions and are separated by level, which you can learn more about below.

Learn to Skate Levels

SNOWPLOW SAM
Our Snowplow Sam classes are designed for children 6 and younger. All levels are welcome, from children with no skating experience to those who are comfortable standing and marching on the ice. Our focus is helping children develop the core skills of skating: agility, balance, coordination, and speed. Most importantly, we want to foster a lifelong love and joy for skating from the very start! Classes are taught in a safe, positive environment full of fun and games to keep kids engaged and smiling.

MY TOT & ME
Make memories at this playful skating program designed for children ages 2 to 5 and their grown-ups. Build confidence and coordination through games and gentle guidance during these 30-minute sessions.
Registration is for one adult and one child per session. Both children and adults are expected to participate in skate instruction. Prior ice skating experience is encouraged for adults, but not required. One guardian must attend with each registered child, and a different caregiver may attend from week to week with the same child.

Upon the completion of our Basic Skills levels and Aspire program, skaters will be able to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating. Skaters will progress at their own rate and advance after skill mastery is demonstrated.
