Omi Gray is a multifaceted teaching artist based in Harlem, best known for her hands-on “Make it & Take it” workshops where participants leave with their own creative treasures. She teaches botanical printing, nuno felting, free-form weaving, bead-and-wire crochet, and the art of decoupage—transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Her Harlem design studio is just steps from Central Park, but she often calls “nature’s art studio” her classroom. You can find her collecting leaves, weaving on her portable loom, or reflecting by the Harlem Meer and Conservatory Garden—her favorite sanctuaries for rest and inspiration.
Beyond workshops, Omi Gray’s creations live on in the world: her silk scarves, notecards, and prints are available at the Central Park Conservancy’s Dairy Visitor Center & Gift Shop.
This session is part of ROOTED, a wellness series in Central Park’s north end. Each Wednesday (4:00 pm–7:00 pm) and Saturday (10:00 am–1:00 pm) from September 17–November 8, you can join a full ”window” of Mind, Body, and Soul wellness experiences. Come for this session—or explore all three for the complete three-hour journey.
