Join us for the last day of ice-skating at the Davis Center!

Plus, from 5:40 pm–5:50 pm: See a special performance by Florence “Flo” Ngala, a figure skater and photographer from Harlem. This performance is free and open to the public.

Helmets will not be available to rent. For your safety, we recommend bringing your own properly fitted helmet—especially for children and beginner skaters.

Florence Ngala
Florence “Flo” Ngala is a freelance creative and figure skater from Harlem. Ngala began skating at 6 with the nonprofit girls' program Figure Skating in Harlem, attending lessons across NYC, including at the former Lasker Rink.
Off the ice, Ngala’s career as a photographer started in college when she was invited to work with entertainers and athletes. Ngala has captured Cardi B, the Met Gala, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the students of Figure Skating in Harlem for a 2018 New York Times cover story.
She returned to figure skating in 2024 and delivered the TEDx talk “Black Girl, White Ice” in the same year.

DJ Trauma
Jamal Reid, better known as DJ Trauma and now using the brand name Traumatics, is a highly successful celebrity DJ who started his career in 1991 and gained prominence in Washington, DC, while attending Howard University. After moving back to New York, he became one of the most sought-after DJs in the competitive market, securing residencies at trendsetting nightclubs and landing television appearances on shows like BET’s 106 & Park and VH1’s Love & Hip Hop. Recognized as the Breakthrough Open-Format DJ of the Year at the Global Spin Awards in 2014, his client roster includes major brands and organizations including MTV, Essence Magazine, Adidas, and Dance Theatre of Harlem. Jamal is dedicated to mentoring through the SuperVibes DJ Academy, which he founded in 2016, partnering with organizations including the NYC Department of Education and the YMCA to teach DJ classes in more than 40 public, private, and charter schools.
